Original set of two different black & white promotional publicity associated press wire laser photos measuring approximately 10" x 8" issued to a US newspapers for print reporting on Madonna,   includes -

1. 'Like a Prayer' album release, featuring a Madonna photo video still from the video ,  with info text which reads "AP LASERPHOTO II (NY81-March 7) - "LIKE A PRAYER" - Madonna's first all new studio album in almost three years is due in stores March 21. "Like a Prayer," written and produced by Madonna (with Patrick Leonard and Stephen Bray) debuted on radio last Friday. Official photo has been used by a US media outlet and came in a collection of different early era Madonna publicity photos, all have been used for print publicity & pressing purposes and as seen in the photos this item has red marker lines & the Madonna text also circled in red from use by the print publication and is pressed on thin newspaper glossy photo paper as a laser photo (rather than a normal 10x8 glossy promo photo), also includes a printing colour scale down the side edge, originally used by the press as the original template to print the publication.

In used very good+ condition with light creases & discolouring to the paper from age as seen in all photos.

Official photo has been used by a US media outlet and came in a collection of different early era Madonna publicity photos, all have been used for print publicity & press purposes. Printed on thin newspaper glossy photo paper as a laser photo (rather than a normal 10x8 glossy photo), used by the press as the original template to print the publication. with a publishing colour graph chart on the side & red crayon points on the image for publishing positioning and Madonna written in pen on the back.

A note about wire service photos: Wire service photos from the 1970s/1980s/1990s are *not* traditional glossy photos. They were transmitted electronically to magazines and newspapers around the world and then printed out on special thermal paper printers in the newsroom. Associated Press wire photos of this era have a sepia tone to them due to the chemicals used in printing; the image converts to a nice black and white when scanned. United Press International wire photos are whiter and brighter; the thermal paper they’re printed on is thinner than the crisper AP paper stock, almost like fax paper
